Acceptable Use Policy

Effective Date: October 17, 2026
Last updated: October 17, 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") forms part of the Twin Leaf Terms of Service. It describes what you may not do with Twin Leaf, so that the Service stays safe, private, and available for everyone.

The short version

This summary is for convenience only. The full text below is what governs.

1. Purpose & Scope

This AUP applies to every use of Twin Leaf, including the website, the key service, and any interface we provide. It supplements Section 12 of our Terms of Service. Examples are illustrative, not exhaustive.

2. Permitted Use

Twin Leaf is licensed for your own personal, household, non-commercial budgeting, by one adult per Account, through a standard web browser, in compliance with applicable law.

3. Security & Integrity

You must not:

  • access, or attempt to access, any Account, data, key, or system other than your own, including by guessing sign-in tokens, document paths, or identifiers;
  • attempt to decrypt, or to guess the passcode or recovery code for, any data other than your own;
  • probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, except as permitted by Section 15 of our Security & Data Protection page;
  • circumvent or interfere with authentication, security rules, encryption, rate limits, wrong-passcode limits, usage quotas, or other protective measures;
  • upload or introduce malware or any code designed to harm, disable, or surveil any device, system, or person;
  • launch or facilitate denial-of-service attacks, flooding, or any activity that degrades the Service or exhausts its shared quotas; or
  • impersonate Twin Leaf or Angel Gate Solutions, or create sites, messages, or apps that imitate Twin Leaf to obtain anyone's sign-in, passcode, or recovery code.

4. Automation, Scraping & Reverse Engineering

You must not use bots, scripts, scrapers, or other automated means to access the Service or its backend (other than a standard browser and its accessibility tools), call the key service or database outside the Twin Leaf website, or reverse engineer the Service except where applicable law permits despite this restriction. You must not copy, frame, mirror, resell, sublicense, or offer the Service, or access to it, to others.

5. Lawful & Honest Use

You must not use Twin Leaf:

  • for fraud, money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions evasion, tax evasion, identity theft, or any other unlawful purpose;
  • to store or process financial information that you are not authorized to hold, such as another person's statements obtained without permission;
  • to connect a Gmail or other email account that is not yours or that you are not authorized to access, or to use the email connection to collect information about other people;
  • to provide bookkeeping, financial-planning, debt-relief, credit-repair, or similar services to others, or for any commercial purpose;
  • in violation of export control or sanctions laws (see Section 18 of the Terms); or
  • to harass, threaten, or harm any person, or to infringe anyone's intellectual property or privacy rights.

6. Accounts

You must not create Accounts by automated means, create multiple Accounts to evade limits or enforcement, share, sell, or transfer an Account, or create an Account if you are under 18 or have previously been banned from the Service.

7. AI Features

If you use the Coach Plus chat, you must not use it to generate unlawful, harmful, harassing, or deceptive content; to attempt to extract system instructions, other users' information, or credentials; to bypass safety measures; to submit other people's personal information without authorization; to send requests by automated means or exceed usage limits; or in violation of the AI provider's usage policies.

8. Fair Use of a Free Service

Twin Leaf is free and shares daily usage quotas among all users. Please import only your own history, avoid repeated bulk re-imports, and do not consume a disproportionate share of capacity. We may apply reasonable limits on import size, history length, and request rates, and may temporarily restrict Accounts whose usage threatens availability for others.

9. Good-Faith Security Research

Research that follows the rules in Section 15 of our Security & Data Protection page — your own accounts only, no access to others' data, no service degradation, no social engineering, and private disclosure — is not a violation of this AUP.

10. Reporting Violations

Report suspected violations, phishing sites imitating Twin Leaf, or abuse to support@angelgatesolutions.com; for a security vulnerability, use the subject "Twin Leaf Security Report".

11. Enforcement

We may investigate suspected violations and take proportionate action, including warning you, restricting features, suspending or terminating your Account, blocking network addresses, and reporting conduct to law enforcement. Because your financial data is encrypted on your device, our investigation is limited to the account information, metadata, and logs described in our Privacy Policy. Where practicable and lawful, we will tell you the reason for an enforcement action and give you an opportunity to respond.

12. Changes

We may update this AUP. Material changes will be handled as described in Section 2.3 of our Terms of Service.
